Comes with complete, functional Bat-cave. Bat-mobile and Robin most definitely not included. Yes, I know it’s a sauna, but this dark, dreary picture of mostly the door isn’t doing the best job of showing it off. Don’t take pictures at night, especially outdoors.

All this photo tells us is that there are trees outside and that the door frame is white. Despite turning on the lights in the room, the light from outside the home was just too bright and it overpowered the camera’s light sensor, making it think it was brighter in the room than it actually was. The camera responded by under-exposing the shot, creating this useless dark mess we see here. Always try and shoot the picture with the natural light to your back, or at the very least, off to the side of the frame (the camera’s light meter usually reads the centre of the frame the most).

This picture would be a lot nicer if the REALTOR® stood back a bit more and captured a little more of the room. Also, I would recommend turning on some lights to brighten things up and make the room look more inviting. If this were my client’s house, I would also recommend getting some kind of picture or art to hang on the wall above the bed to make it more interesting. That’s also a very odd way to arrange pillows on an otherwise perfectly-made bed.

Which house is for sale?

Which house is for sale?

Is it the darkened room that we can’t really see because of poor lighting, or is this just a lazy REALTOR® who’s listed his neighbour’s house across the street and is shooting the exterior from the comfort of his living room?

Dark, cluttered and poorly composed are what get this gem to appear on this blog! Turning on a few lights and shooting away from the brightly lit window would take care of the dark part, but it is also the REALTOR®’s responsibility to counsel the client to tidy up a bit before pictures are taken.

Dining in the Dark

Dining in the Dark

Compositionally, this is a fairly nice photo. You can see the whole dining room, and how big it is from the large dining room table and six chairs in the frame. However, it’s ruined by being too dark. Simply turning on the lights would make this present a lot better.

Blurry, crooked, and dark, make this today’s Horrible MLS Photo. Turn on a few lights, and use a tripod. Always double-check your images to ensure that they’re straight-on. This is easily fixed with the cropping tool on most image editing software.

Cookin' in the Dark

Cookin' in the Dark

A particularly uninspiring photo of the living room/kitchen is made worse by not turning on the lights! This is so simple and I don’t know anyone who’s in that much of a rush that they don’t have time to turn the lights on!

Another example of a lazy REALTOR® -  at least, I sure hope this listing hasn’t been on the MLS®  for over three years! That, and the picture is pretty awful. Turn on some lights, stand back and capture more of the kitchen than the front of that vintage wall oven. When you shoot photos, you should never have the date function turned on. Not only is it visually distracting, but you’ll automatically reinforce how old the listing is on the public MLS®.
