Another “economy shot” trying to fit two features/rooms into one shot. It just doesn’t work; the wall has become the focal point.

“Backed Into A Corner “
This is another example of trying to fit two shots in one. The corner of the room has become the focal point, instead of the classy French door or the stained glass entrance door. A better idea would be to step back and take in each in a wider shot, rather than a tight shot of both.

The composition of this photo is like looking down a tunnel, and the ultra-bright chandelier at the opposite end of the shot is distracting.

Oops, caught the flash in there. Also, this is a bad angle for this shot. I just realized that it was a bedroom (you can see the bed in the mirror). The wide-angle lens is your friend!

What Are Sooke Residents Doing In Response To High Gas Prices? from Tim Ayres – REALTOR® on Vimeo .

For many residents of Sooke, our decision to locate here was based on lower housing costs. This of course comes as a trade-off with a longer commute to work in Victoria or on the base at Esquimalt. With the price of gas at an all time high, I wonder if that’s changing our behaviour. As I’ve said before , saving tens of thousands of dollars on housing compared to Langford or Victoria, the decision to move to Sooke still buys a lot of gas, even at today’s prices.

“Boxed in! “
Putting a wall in the centre of your shot makes the viewer feel closed in and makes the room look really small. I think I understand what the REALTOR® was trying to do here; it looks as if he or she wanted to show the transition/layout of the kitchen and living room.

“In the Spotlight “
I could easily have taken all the photos from this listing. This is just horrible! I guess the REALTOR® was trying to highlight the newer cabinetry in the kitchen, but I think a more valuable shot would be of the whole kitchen, or at least all the cabinets!
